Community Outreach

Background

Community Outreach Unit is a newly developed program unit of GAD/C to be effective from January 2007. In June 2006, GAD/C endorsed its strategic plan for 2007-2011. During the strategic plan, the Board of Directors (BoD) suggested establishing a new program unit called Community Outreach Unit to take up the program activities that Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) unit currently runs. The decision was made on the consensus that the current program i.e., Women's Empowerment through Legal Awareness (WELA) of IEC Unit is a community outreach program in modality. The BoD also confirmed the need for an active IEC Unit in GAD/C.
