What Particular Types of Training does the Programme Offer?

The training and internship programme offers a number of gender trainings, which include:

These are planned training. Planned training refers to the training for which the programme follows own course modules. But targeted institutions are consulted in prior to identify their training needs. Planned trainings are particularly designed to build gender capacity of government institutions, NGOs, private sector organizations, network members and youth associations. Government institutions include Technical Working Group on Gender (TWGG), Provincial Local Administration Unit (PLAU) of Ministry of Interior (MoI), and Teachers' Trainers, School Management and Recruitment Committees of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS).

The training and internship programme also offers customized training upon requested by the paid customers. Customized training refers to the training for which the programme develops tailor-made module to feed the need of the individual customer. The programme assesses the training need of the customer prior to design the module. The need assessment guarantees that the training will best reflect the needs of the customers. Gender Awareness
The gender awareness training is particularly designed to build awareness of gender equality in their own lives and professions among the participants. The training also provides concepts, principles, and arguments on gender to the participants to enable them to identify gender issues in various development areas in general.

Gender Awareness on Specific Area/Sector
The training and internship unit also offers gender awareness training specific to different areas or sectors to raise awareness of gender equality and issues in particular area or sector among the participants. This training is particularly offered for paid customers, and specific area or sector for focus is determined as per the requirement of the customers. The unit usually offers the gender awareness training in the following specific areas or sectors:

  • Gender and disaster management, emergency relief and rehabilitation

  • Gender in workplace environment

Participants are expected to gain deep understanding of gender equality in the specific area/sector upon successful completion of this training.

Gender Analysis
The gender analysis training is especially designed to equip the gender focal points of ministries and key gender staffs of NGOs and other civil society groups with tools and techniques to situate gender in particular sector/area. Training consists of both theory and field visit to provide quick and hand-on skills to the participants on how to conduct gender analysis in general and in particular sector in specific.

Interested persons are advised to attend gender awareness training in prior to bring knowledge and understanding on key concepts, terms and principles of gender equality.

Duration: 5 days

Gender Policy

The gender policy training is aimed to enable the key staff of NGOs and civil society groups and gender focal points of government's ministries to develop gender policy of their respective organizations and ministries.

Persons interested for gender policy training are advised to attend gender awareness and/or gender analysis training in prior to bring basic as well as advance knowledge on gender.

Gender Mainstreaming
The training on gender mainstreaming is designed to equip the gender focal points of ministries and key staffs of NGOs and civil society organizations mandated to integrate gender into laws, policies, projects, and programmes in their respective ministries and organizations. The training provides strategies to ensure that women and men are equally treated, benefited and impacted by the laws, policies, projects and programmes.

Persons interested for this training are strongly recommended to attend the gender analysis training.

Duration: 3 days

Training of Trainers on Gender Awareness
This training is particularly designed for the trainers of government ministries, NGOs and civil society organizations. Participants are provided skills on how to develop the training (gender awareness) module, conduct training sessions, and use case, example, and documentary film for building quick and long-lasting awareness among the participants. This training also accommodates sessions on how to conduct training need assessment and pre and post-test among the participants to measure the achievement of gender knowledge and awareness among the participants at the end of the training.
